Sailing the Mediterranean - Part V

After exploring Croatia we left the island of Vis and sailed to Italy. At their closest, the two countries are only seventy nautical miles (135 kilometres) apart. We worked out way down the SE coast of Italy, then we made several passages which took us back around the boot of Italy until we got to Siracusa, Sicily. From Siracusa we sailed to Malta and after stopping there for a week we continued on to Monastir, Tunisia. We spent the winter of 2002/2003 in Monastir, before returning to Malta.
