Provence Day Four: Tour Leader

Alison de Candole

On a Weyfarers walk, there is a tour manager and a tour leader. Our leader was Alison de Candole. She was responsible for knowing all of the trails that we walked and making sure that we walked left when we were suppose to go left and that we walked right when we were suppose to walk right. Alison was also the person that made Provence come alive, by numerous stops where she would explain the history and background of the region that we were walking through.

Many of the paths that we walked, had properties that were surrounded by a stone wall. These walls were constructed of local stone using dry-stone construction (no mortar is used). The walls provided privacy to the properties that they surrounded, but they also provided us with interesting textures to observe as we walked by.
