North Arm of the Fraser River: Heading Home

[Previous]

Heading Home

On our way back to the start of our walk, we took a little detour to the Deering Island park. This short detour provides excellent views down the Fraser to the West. It is only a mile or so until you reach the ocean in the form of Georgia Straight.

Deering Island Bridge

To get to the Deering Island Park, you need to cross the bridge that crosses the open water between Vancouver and Deering Island. While most of your view is dominated by the houses on the island, a short jog to the right takes you to the nice view above.

Thanks for joining us on our walk along the North Arm of the Fraser River. The river is an important part of British Columbia and it makes an excellent back-drop to our relaxed walk.
