Experiencing Puerto Vallarta

March 31, 2011

David, Jocelyn, Daniel, and Allen on the Beach

The Canto del Sol resort we stayed in had beach side activities, like sailing a Hobie Cat. One day after lunch we booked time to go out and enjoy the water. This was Daniel's first time ever sailing. After beating out from the beach, David, Daniel, and Allen all had a chance to helm the Hobie Cat, before it was time to return to the beach.

Later in the afternoon we took the bus into Puerto Vallarta proper. This was our first time outside of our resort. We explored the town, watched the amazing stone sculptures that were built on the beach as we watched, before walking along the narrow Isla Rio Cuale and doing some shopping.

The evening was dedicated to a Mexican Fiesta. The hotel staff had set hundreds of seats at outdoor tables. As the sun set over the Pacific Ocean, we were treated to a fabulous buffet dinner. That was followed by games, acts, and music that we all enjoyed as we sat outside in the last of the day's heat.

There is also a separate Flickr photo set of sights in Puerto Vallarta which you can view here.
